Ring Bender files amicus brief for League of California Cities in US Court of Appeals for Ninth Circuit

Ring Bender partners Kit Bobko, Norman (Norm) Dupont and Jay Tufano filed an amicus brief on behalf of the League of California Cities. The League represents some 470 cities throughout the State of California and asked Ring Bender to file this amicus brief on its behalf. The brief supports the position of the City of Costa Mesa, which won a jury trial supporting the City’s use of zoning regulations to require distance separations between sober living homes.  The plaintiff, a sober living home known as The Ohio House LLC, has now appealed that verdict to the Ninth Circuit.  Zoning laws are a key part of municipal efforts to regulate the residential values in their communities and affect all California cities. A copy of the amicus brief is available here.
