Established in 1991, CEJ serves as a beacon of hope for many in Oregon, ensuring that equal access to justice is not just a privilege but a right for all. CEJ functions as the backbone of Oregon’s legal aid programs, having raised over $33.5 million since inception. These funds are crucial in aiding low-income and senior Oregonians with critical legal needs in areas like family law, domestic violence, and housing.
The need for legal assistance has only grown, accentuated by challenges like the Covid pandemic and wildfires. In 2022 alone, Oregon’s legal aid programs served almost 23,000 families and individuals, making a profound difference in their lives.
